Vintage Buttons
Clothing buttons are miniature works of art depicting a wide range of subject matter and history. Buttons are crafted in a variety of materials: bone, glass, wood, enamel, rhinestone, plastic, ceramic, pearl and shell, metals, horn, hard rubber, and composites of mixed materials. Many buttons bear the mark of their maker but most do not. Collectors are especially fond of "Moon Glows", picture, metal, celluloid and Bakelite buttons. Prices can run from a few pennies to over $50.00 each for a rare one.
